DELTON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL (12126 89 STREET) Westwood residents and property owners are invited to learn about neighbourhood reconstruction scheduled to begin in 2015. City staff will share information on the Building Great Neighbourhoods initiative and answer questions about construction, the local improvement process and project timelines. The City will also share options for sidewalk renewal and decorative streetlight local improvements, and associated costs for property owners. Please join us at the Hall for our first public meeting about our upcoming Neighbourhood Renewal. We are seeking YOUR input on streets, drainage, sidewalks, and lighting. Hope you will join us! We are in the very beginning stage of our neighbourhood redevelopment. We have some exciting challenges ahead, and it will be tough to wait for the final result--but we are on our way.
There will be an important upcoming PUBLIC meeting, and details will be posted as soon as the date is set. We hope to have all our residents join us, and provide feedback. In the meantime, we have started an email address specific to redevelopment. Just as we celebrated a terrific start to summer with our Marshmallow Roast, we also received some fantastic news; the triangle park will now be officially named Lorne Larsen Park! I can't begin to say just how pleased I am to hear about this, and to honour a man who gave so much. We now await word on the park funding, so please keep an eye out for updates.
